Last Day of the Giveaways!!!

Hi everyone! Just wanted to remind you all that tomorrow, June 30th, marks the end of both of my giveaways. The drawing for the amazonite earrings will take place tomorrow at midnight, so get your entries in before then. I will announce the winner here on July 1st, and also contact them in whichever way they provided.

The Latest Treasure

This is my latest yard sale find. It's an old lamp, gray base with little black specks, cream shade with little brown specks. It's quite lovely and I was very happy to come across it. Paid $1.50

I'm thinking of transforming it into a more, oh how should I say it...shabby chic look. (wink wink). I think my approach is going to be to paint the base of the lamp antique white and give it a vintage feel, doing the best with the common painting skills I possess. The shade however I haven't reached a decision on yet. Should I paint it? It is a bit stained (there are a few brown rings around the other side). Should I replace it all together? And with what? I was thinking of possibly sewing some beads around the bottom of the shade, simply because I've always loved lamps that look like that. I'm not sure though. Seashells perhaps? Well, I'll be sure and post the finished product once it is complete, so that you may all see the outcome. If you have any suggestions as far as the re-creation of the lamp, feel free to comment!

I listed a new item today...stemware charms made with real seashells.

I use these little charms on the handles of my coffee mugs as well, which works just as nicely. They're so cute, I'm having a hard time selling them, but then again I always have that problem. haha. Well, I finally did it! I started my blog!

Hi everyone! To anyone reading this, I want you to know that I really appreciate you stopping by. This is my very first blog, so I am going to need a little bit of grace while I learn how to get started. I am so excited! I've been hoping to begin this journey for a few weeks now, but haven't found the time until now. A big thanks to floatingrabbit (etsy user) for helping me choose the perfect name for my blog. She did a great job didn't she? A beautiful cross between my etsy user name "DarlingDaisy" and my shop name "The Shabby Chic Beach."
